The EDUHUB project is an initiative to modernise and improve the quality of early childhood education in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region. Its objective is to provide early childhood educators with modern, inclusive and practice-oriented teaching methods, as well as innovative learning materials, thereby enhancing the quality of pre-school education in a sustainable manner.

At the heart of the project is the establishment of a regional competence centre for early childhood education. EDUHUB offers practical training courses, peer-learning opportunities and innovative approaches to integrating STEM subjects into play-based learning for children aged three to six.

A further focus is the promotion of safety skills. A structured first-aid programme is being developed to provide children with age-appropriate basic safety knowledge and strengthen their resilience. These skills are particularly important in light of the current challenges facing Ukraine.

To support kindergartens, a library-style lending system will be established. Educators will be able to borrow modern educational and experimental materials, use them in the classroom and return them for use by others. This approach broadens access to high-quality learning resources across a large number of institutions. In addition, a digital platform will be developed to encourage cooperation between pre-school institutions, facilitate the exchange of materials and strengthen the digital skills of educators.

By combining modern infrastructure, sustainable organisational structures and targeted capacity building, EDUHUB makes an important contribution to the development of early childhood education and supports Ukraine’s long-term recovery objectives.
