Emergency Assistance for Children and Families in Venezuela
Following two major earthquakes in Venezuela, the humanitarian situation has become critical. Densely populated areas such as La Guaira and Caracas have been particularly affected. Many people are in urgent need of assistance, including large numbers of children, families, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. Damage to hospitals, water supply systems and schools has further aggravated the situation.
In 2026, Liechtenstein is supporting UNICEF’s appeal Humanitarian Action for Children, Venezuela with a contribution of CHF 100,000. UNICEF is providing emergency assistance in the areas of health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, child protection and education, while also coordinating key elements of the international humanitarian response on the ground.
Through this contribution, Liechtenstein is providing rapid support to particularly vulnerable children and families and helping to ensure access to life-saving basic services, protection and temporary educational opportunities during the acute crisis.
Project goals
Ensure access to life-saving basic services for affected children and families.
Improve health, nutrition, water and hygiene services, as well as child protection.
