Emergency Assistance for Earthquake Survivors in Venezuela

Following two major earthquakes in Venezuela, the humanitarian situation remains highly challenging. Densely populated areas such as La Guaira and Caracas have been particularly affected. Many people have been injured, lost their homes or have only limited access to essential services such as healthcare, water and communications.

In 2026, Liechtenstein is supporting the Liechtenstein Red Cross appeal Earthquake in Venezuela with a contribution of CHF 100,000 in support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Venezuelan Red Cross. Assistance includes emergency relief items, medical care, first aid, psychosocial support, and water, sanitation and hygiene interventions.

Through this contribution, Liechtenstein is providing rapid assistance to people affected by the earthquake and strengthening the locally rooted emergency response of the Venezuelan Red Cross.
