Food Assistance for Earthquake-Affected Communities in Venezuela
Following severe earthquakes in north-central Venezuela, the humanitarian situation has become critically strained. Many people have been killed or injured, communities have been cut off from the outside world, and existing food insecurity has worsened further. Particularly vulnerable households are in urgent need of food assistance.
In 2026, Liechtenstein is supporting the World Food Programme’s (WFP) Urgent Appeal Venezuela with a contribution of CHF 100,000. The WFP provides food parcels and hot meals, while also delivering logistical support for humanitarian operations on the ground.
Through this contribution, Liechtenstein is providing rapid assistance in an acute emergency and helping to ensure that life-saving aid reaches isolated and hard-to-access communities.
Project goals
Rapid provision of life-saving food assistance to the affected population.
Prevent further deterioration of the food security crisis in the affected areas.
Support the overall humanitarian response through WFP logistical services.
