Through this project, Liechtenstein supports the Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD) in conducting mechanical mine clearance in Ukraine. The objective is to clear land contaminated by explosive remnants of war in agricultural areas and around critical infrastructure over a period of three years. In total, approximately 3.5 million square metres of land will be cleared.

A specialised DOK-ING MV-10 mine clearance machine will be deployed to efficiently remove mines and other explosive hazards. In addition to operating the machine, the project includes the training and employment of a local clearance team, as well as the provision of transport, spare parts and the necessary infrastructure.

Mine clearance creates the conditions for agricultural land to be brought back into use, economic activities to resume and infrastructure to be used safely. At the same time, the project helps reduce the risk of accidents caused by mines and unexploded ordnance and contributes to sustainably improving the living conditions of affected communities.
