A project by Liechtenstein Development Service (LED)
Rural development with a focus on food security & agricultural education in West Africa (Projects JIGITUGU & HO-HALE)
Socio-economic integration of youth is a big challenge in West Africa, who often are not aware of the opportunity offered by the agricultural sector and/or have no access to raining/capacity building opportunity.
Through PSLs (Prestataire de Services Local) and MAs (Maître d’Apprentissage), the projects JIGITUGU in Mali and HO-HALE in Burkina Faso sets-up opportunities for insitu trainings and extension services to support market-oriented agricultural production and facilitate the socio-economic integration of youth.
Project goals
Young people, women, and vulnerable groups acquire skills in diversified and sustainable agricultural occupations and integrate profitably into agroecological market systems that create jobs.
Young people, women, and vulnerable groups have better access to vocational training measures in their local area and actively participate in improving the framework conditions for entrepreneurship and social cohesion in their communities.
The framework conditions for the socioeconomic integration of young people, women, and vulnerable groups are improved through increased communication, awareness-raising, and advocacy.
