Sexual violence is a widespread yet often invisible humanitarian emergency in conflict and crisis settings. It particularly affects women and girls, but also men, boys and children. Survivors require rapid access to medical care, psychosocial support and protection services.

In 2026, Liechtenstein is supporting the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Special Appeal: Addressing Sexual Violence with a contribution of CHF 100,000. The ICRC provides assistance in hard-to-reach conflict-affected areas, combining emergency medical care, psychosocial support, protection measures and prevention activities.

Through this contribution, Liechtenstein strengthens a significantly underfunded area of humanitarian action and helps protect human dignity, support particularly vulnerable people and promote respect for international humanitarian law.
