Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion, Mnemonic has collected and preserved digital evidence relating to alleged war crimes, serious human rights violations and conflict-related destruction in Ukraine. With more than 7.6 million records, Mnemonic’s Ukraine Archive is among the leading archives of its kind and serves as a foundation for investigations, court proceedings, journalistic research and international reporting.

The project aims to strengthen accountability for the most serious crimes and support affected people in their pursuit of justice. To this end, open-source information such as videos, photographs, documents and satellite imagery is secured, verified and archived in accordance with international standards.

In addition to the archiving and analysis of digital evidence, Mnemonic supports human rights organisations, investigative authorities, prosecutors, media organisations and civil society actors in the professional handling of digital evidence. The organisation also works with international partners to promote the integration of international standards into Ukrainian legal and procedural practice.

Through this contribution, Liechtenstein supports the preservation of important evidence for future national and international criminal proceedings and thereby contributes to justice, accountability and the long-term social recovery of Ukraine.
