A project by Liechtenstein Development Service (LED)
Improving the living conditions in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso has a predominantly rural and young population, many of whom are affected by food insecurity. In addition, climate change is negatively impacting agricultural production and Burkina Faso has been suffering from a security crisis since 2016, which has led to a rapid increase in the number of internally displaced persons.
The project therefore aims to contribute to improving the living conditions of the population in Burkina Faso. This is achieved by strengthening livelihoods, facilitating access to high-quality basic public services and promoting an environment of peace.
Project goals
Strengthening the food security of the population and their resilience to climate change.
Improving access to high-quality basic public services and employment opportunities, particularly for young people and women in rural areas.
Inclusion of internally displaced persons in the above-mentioned activities to strengthen local cohesion.
Equitable distribution of resources by strengthening civil society and developing and respecting participatory and inclusive democratic processes.
Promoting peace, constructive dialogue and social cohesion in the context of municipal and regional developments.
